Elvis-Picasso Boutique Raided under PASTA 2002

As you may have read in the press over the weekend, the Elvis-Picasso Gallery Shop was raided by the Special Branch of the Ministry of Information, Department VI, and everything, including a wretched staff member, was seized. This action was carried out under the Prevention of All-Sorts of Terrorist Acts (PASTA-2002) and on the dubious claim by a certain 'Agent of the State' that the collection of Elvis-Picasso tent pegs in the Elvis-Picasso Gallery Bazaar could possibly be used in the construction of a mind-boggling, weapon of mass destruction (WMD) with intent to inform the entire public of its own intrinsic absurdity.

Elvis-Picasso has pressed his friend in a high place to intervene and force the said 'Secret Agent', to return the tent pegs (a unique signed and numbered edition of scaled replicas of those featured here in the 2000 Exhibition at the Tate Modern by Elvis-Picasso himself) so that the Elvis-Picasso Gallery Supermarche may once again open in the service of Surrealist Art.

The Elvis-Picasso Boutique is therefore closed at present.

Elvis-Picasso Gallery Director, Dame Mary Ether begs for funds for the very, very poor at the recent G20 meeting in London, and with some moderate success too.

Dame Mary Ether (pictured here in a photograph by Magnum Photos) went to the G20 meeting on an invitation from world leaders to put the case for massive funding for the proposed Elvis-Picasso Bank. The need to lend very, very poor people large sums of money has now become very urgent, she argued.

The Elvis-Picasso Bank, currently being set up in a reputable off-shore island by our esteemed Financial Director, Ms Natalie Rockafella, will be investing in Elvis-Picasso Surrealist Hedge Funds. These should, it is imagined, generate further large funds for pensions and bonuses for staff as well as some xmas presents for the small, sick children of the very, very poor.

Dame Mary's proposals were warmly greeted by the world leaders attending and she was granted unlimited access to International Monetary Fund resources. A 'Big Gala Do' has been organised at the Elvis-Picasso Gallery to celebrate the success of Dame Mary.
